BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SLAVA POLUNIN
President of the Fonds de Dotation, clown

Born on 12 June 1950, Slava discovered he wanted to be a clown when he saw Charlie Chaplin's The Kid at the age of eight. Heir to the greatest mimes of the 20th century, he created his own character: a poignant and tender yellow clown. Since then, Slava has enjoyed a prolific artistic career, travelling throughout his vast country and around the world. At regular intervals, he initiates projects that have become universes in their own right: the Congress of Fools, travelling theatre festivals, his Academy of Fools... which are also clown schools. In 1993, Slava created Slava's SnowShow, a show of visual poetry that has been performed more than 12,000 times around the world. More than 12 million spectators have discovered Slava's philosophy through the SnowShow. In the early 2000s, Slava moved to France, where he created the Moulin Jaune: a garden-laboratory of creation where visitors and guest artists envision and create new worlds.
