The transmission of knowledge lies at the heart of our mission. The Fund’s publishing activity follows two main priorities. First, it seeks to renew the public perception of the culture of clowns, jesters, eccentrics, festivals, and rituals - across theatre, visual arts, cinema, and other fields.
Second, it aims to organise a body of knowledge and lived experiences generated by this culture, in order to support the training of current and future generations of artists.
To pursue this ambitious undertaking, the Fund plans to become an independent publisher. It supports projects dedicated to publishing authoritative historical texts and continues to disseminate the legacy of Slava Polunin.
The first step is the publication of the French edition of Alchemy of Snowness, written by Slava Polunin and Natasha Tabachnikova, which sets out the fundamental principles of our approach to creation. In this book, Slava retraces his artistic journey through personal and poetic stories, and opens the door to the creative process behind Slava’s SnowShow, a production that has been enchanting and inspiring audiences around the world for more than thirty years.
Following its Russian and English editions, the French publication forms part of a broader project to make the book accessible to readers worldwide - Japanese and Italian translations are currently nearing completion.
